About Tom “Wags” Wagner

Tom Wagner began his career with the Metropolitan Police Department on September 1, 1988 and retired after 25 years as a Detective Sergeant in charge for missing person/juvenile detail. Tom started the Nevada Amber Alert program and provided training for officers in the new system that alerted the public to the most serious child-abduction cases. Nominated twice as the Police Officer of the Year, Tom also received the Unit Citation of Valor.

An entrepreneur at heart, Wagner is a small business owner who founded and operates several small businesses; Wagner Allstate, After the Badge Security, LLC, InstaHire LLC, and Wags2 Riches, lifestyle, and clothing. His dedication to hard work and providing good products and service to the community are all motivators for his success in business.

Community service is at the core of Wagner’s desire to improve the lives of people in need. He is the founder of Police Officers Riding for Kids, raising over $250,000 for southern Nevada charities (Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation, Special Olympics). Cops For Kids was started to assist parents in law enforcement with their children’s college education, to date the scholarship program has awarded over $300,000 in tuition assistance. The 3630 Foundation was started after retired police officer; Rich Schmitt committed suicide. Rich called for counseling help and was told he had to wait a couple weeks. Two days later he killed himself. This foundation will assist retired police officers getting the counseling help that they deserve immediately.

Wagner serves on the following boards: Las Vegas Bowl, Southern Nevada sports, Hall of Fame, UNLV Football Foundation, Simon Keith Foundation, Bill Ireland, Chapter of National Foundation of College Hall of Fame Athletes, UNLV Baseball Club, Little League Board member, Scarlett Canyon HOA, and the Super Bowl Host Committee Ambassador program.

Wagner graduated from Mankato State University in 1988 with a criminal justice and pre-law degree. He played two years on the football team.

Tom is an avid sports fan, golfer, pickleball player and fitness enthusiast.
